Accreditation Information - The Current Events, National News for Kids

Each issue of our children's newspaper fosters a passion for knowledge in our students and the confidence that comes from "knowing what you know."

The Current Events provides current news for kids that supports educators as they help students strengthen communication skills, develop higher-order thinking, and build a strong foundation for literacy by:

  • Conforming to "Reading First"/ No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
  • Providing a complete Teacher’s Guide/ Activity Sheet/ Review Sheet with every issue, adaptable for curricula in grades 2–8.
  • School to Home feature: opens the door to Title 1 funding
  • Aligning our lessons with national learning standards:
